Message:* It has come to my attention that over 70 workers were suddenly fired after they filed complaints about violations of their legal rights at work. As you should know, under federal and state laws, it is illegal to retaliate against employees for filing complaints. These workers lost their jobs at the Centerpoint Intermodal Facility in Elwood, IL for doing nothing more than exposing what they believe to be illegal activities. These workers should be commended for blowing the whistle on illegal practices, not fired for it. I urge you to retain all of the workers who have been fired, many of whom have worked for the facility since it opened in January. Changing temporary employment agencies does not mean the workers should lose their jobs.
