UE Local 770 has a close relationship with Local 728 in Williamsburg, KY, and when they heard how Local 728 members were affected by tornadoes in May [1] they wanted to do something to aid their fellow UE members. After discussion in their committee group chat, Committeeperson Melinda Stackhouse had the idea to organize a 50/50 raffle. Committeepeople sold tickets at work, and the local held the 50/50 raffle at their June meeting and voted to match donations from the local treasury to raise a total of $250.

Severe tornadoes and other storm damage have also been an issue in Indiana this year. “It could have happened to us,” said Vice President Kendall Grobis.
