The UE NEWS is the union's official print periodical, published four times a year. It carries news about contract negotiations, organizing, political action, leadership training, UE regional meetings and our national convention, and more. We also carry in-depth features on major current political and social issues affecting working people and on working-class history [1] (including Black history [2] and women's history [3]), as well as reviews of books [4], music, movies and other cultural work.

The electronic UE NEWS Bulletin comes out once per month, and is free. Subscribe by signing up for the UE ActionNet [5].

The print edition of the UE NEWS is mailed to all members of UE as part of their membership. UE retirees can subscribe for $5 per year. Other individual mail subscriptions are $10 per year. You can purchase a subscription online at https://actionnetwork.org/fundraising/subscribe-to-the-ue-news [6], or by mailing a check to UE NEWS, 4 Smithfield Street, 9th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15222-2226. (Print subscribers are automatically signed up for the UE NEWS Bulletin as well.)

UE members who wish not to receive the paper copy of the UE NEWS should send an email with their name, local number, and address to mailinglist@ueunion.org [7]. Please note that we are legally required to send one issue per year to all members.

Most news stories from the UE NEWS are published online in UE NEWS Updates [8]. Longer features can be found in UE NEWS Features [9], and coverage of political issues in Political Action Updates [10]. Most UE NEWS articles published since August, 2017, and selected articles from the previous 15 years, can be found on this online archives page on this website [11].

The University of Pittsburgh Archives, where the UE Archives reside, has digitized every issue of the UE NEWS from 1939 to 2010 [12]. Additional online materials from the UE Archives can be found here [13].

UE locals and members are encouraged to submit election notices, photographs, and news about contract negotiations, grievance wins, political action, community activism and other activity to uenews@ueunion.org [14].
