Hallcon drivers fighting for wage increases

UE and Hallcon have agreed that the UE contract now applies to the 650 new drivers in Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, St Louis, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. This means you have immediate gains such as

  • $.30 shift differential between 9 pm and 6 am daily and weekend hours Friday 9 pm to Monday at 6 am.
  • Payment for use of your personal cell phone, $.20 per shift, $.40 per trip
  • Improved board rotation fairness rules
  • Improved safety language to enforce driver safety rights.
  • Shift and bidding rights as well as fairness for overtime

What remains now is the last push for Wages and other benefits. All members need to pay attention and get involved. The employer’s last proposal was for a four year contract. They agreed to pay retroactive wages to the first pay period in October 2018. They offered Year 1: $.21, Year 2: $.20, Year 3: $.20, and year 4: $.25. This totals $.86. This should be unacceptable to every driver that reads this.

The union bargaining committee is fighting for much higher wage increases. We will know by March 1st if this Company is going to take us seriously. If they do not, we need your help. The Union will swing into action and begin publicly bannering in locations in New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri.
