UE is militant, member-run union that stands for worker unity, international solidarity and the political independence of the working class. The first union chartered by the CIO in 1936, UE has expanded from the electrical industry to represent workers in a variety of economic sectors.

UE staff work at the direction of the elected leadership to carry out the programs and policies decided upon by our members.

Field Organizer

UE seeks an experienced Field Organizer to assist in organizing campaigns in Baltimore, Maryland. The position involves supporting an ongoing organizing campaign, developing workplace leadership, and participating in organizing new units in Higher Education and a variety of other industries. Under direction of an experienced lead organizer or staff coordinator, the successful applicant will find work on organizing campaigns, as well as work towards securing first contracts in newly organized workplaces. 

UE Region Bookkeeper

UE is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to maintain our regional financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IRS and Department of Labor regulations. The ideal candidate will manage daily transactions, reconciliations, and vendor payments, utilizing QuickBooks and Excel to maintain organized financial systems. Your role will be pivotal in supporting the union's financial operations and contributing to its overall organizational efficiency.
